Avenues of Service
Five Avenues of Service and seven areas of focus — the framework Rotary clubs use to choose and carry out their projects.
The five Avenues of Service
The Avenues of Service are the framework through which every Rotary club plans its work. They are not departments or rules, but a reminder that service takes more than one form.
Club Service
The work of making the club function — meetings, membership, mutual support. Without it, none of the rest happens.
Vocational Service
Integrity at work, and using one’s own profession to help others. Our members installed the equipment at the children’s holiday home with their own hands.
Community Service
Projects in one’s own town — the hospital, a school, a nursery, a park. The greater part of what this club does.
International Service
Work across borders — twinnings, joint projects, global grants. Our 4D ultrasound was funded from four continents.
Youth Service
Rotaract, Interact, youth exchange, scholarships. The fifth avenue, added in 2010.
Areas of focus
The Rotary Foundation funds projects in seven areas of focus. Each has its own page with details.
