Biciklijada — the charity ride that equipped seven schools

„Biciklijada“ is our club's best-known project and the only one that returns every year. It gathers families, recreational riders and cyclists of all ages in Barutana Park, from where they ride an agreed route through the city together.

Why we ride

The ride was set up to raise money for bicycle racks for primary and secondary schools in Pančevo. That campaign is now complete — racks stand at 17 schools. It has encouraged children and young people to use a bicycle every day, including for the trip to school.

From 2026 the proceeds go towards rebuilding the skate park in Barutana — the very place the ride sets off from each year.

A programme in three parts

• the group ride — about 10 kilometres through the city centre and along the cycle path by the Tamiš, with no racing and no timing, at the pace of the slowest rider
• the children's skills course — nine exercises with cones, a figure of eight, a plank and gates; two categories, ages 10–15 and 16–21
• the slowest race — twenty metres of flat track to be covered as slowly as possible, without putting a foot down

How to take part

There are several ways to join:

• come to Pančevo, buy a T-shirt and ride the route with everyone else
• buy a T-shirt and ride in your own town, marking it with a group photograph — Rotary Clubs Budva and Kotor supported us this way
• simply buy a T-shirt in support, without riding

Year by year

The first ride was held on 29 June 2019. Editions followed in 2020, 2021 (when the column numbered more than 150 cyclists), 2022 and 2023, then the sixth on 12 October 2024 and the seventh on 13 September 2025. The eighth is set for 10 October 2026 — again in Barutana Park, starting at 11 a.m.
