A 4D ultrasound scanner for the Pančevo General Hospital

10 June 2018

Thanks to a joint humanitarian campaign by both Rotary clubs in Pančevo — „Mihajlo Pupin“ and „Pančevo“ — the General Hospital received a 4D ultrasound scanner.

Women whose pregnancies are considered high-risk can now establish in time whether the foetus has certain anomalies. That is a difference measured in years of someone's life.

How 33,300 euros were raised

The campaign was run together with Rotary International and clubs from Slovenia, Romania, Montenegro and the United States.

„Raising the money was a large undertaking. The idea had been to buy a cheaper scanner, but in the end more was collected than planned," said Dragan Milosavljević, the club's president at the time. The funds remaining after the purchase were spent, in agreement with the gynaecology ward, on what the department needed.
